BMW Service
Steve Strickland and Zach Warnke take care of the Beemers. Steve brings more than 17 years of Beemer experience to Motoworks having cut his teeth at Barrington Motor Works, Laurel BMW, and Tag Sport. Zach brings more than seven years of Beemer experience to Motoworks from BMW of Marin and Chicago BMW. Steve and Zach are certified BMW techs, and are both graduates of the American Motorcycle Institutes BMW program. Motoworks can take care of any service your BMW requires from an oil change to a full cosmetic and mechanical restoration.

Jap Service
The Motoworks team has the experience and expertise to work on anything made in Japan. If you have a Japanese motorcycle, Gary Mares, our resident Japanese bike expert, is your guy. You may know Gary from the 30 years he spent at his dad’s shop, Mares Cycle. If you own a Japanese bike from the seventies, Gary was working on these when they were new and today has the expertise to take care of all Japanese makes and models.

Scooter Service
Al Coste takes care of the scooters. Al has a passion for bikes that goes back more than 30 years with experience at such legendary Chicago motorcycle shops as Abt BMW, 4&6 Racing, Grand Prix Honda, Airport Honda, Redline Cycle, Baron Von Scooter, and many others. Al’s career in the business goes back to 1973 with his first job at Midwest Triumph. A lifelong love affair with scooters, combined with extensive experience, makes Al one of the most sought after scooter technicians in the country.

Old/Vintage Bikes
If you own an old bike, you probably know by now it’s not easy finding someone willing to work on it, let alone diagnose a problem. Most dealers won’t work on anything more than ten years old. There are reasons for this: the great amount of diagnostic ability, high attention to detail, and the overall time commitment these bikes require make them an unwanted challenge for most mechanics.

The Motoworks team has a real passion for vintage bikes and, much like you, we see the beauty in getting them running like new. We understand an old bike requires more time and patience than a new machine. We also realize more problems may be revealed than initially anticipated and hope you’ll be patient and understanding while we work to give your vintage bike the attention it needs.

BMW and Kymco Service - $70 per hour
Japanese Service - $85 per hour
