The 2022 Triumph Bonneville Bobber has many updates, including functional and aesthetic ones. The changes are partly aimed at meeting current standards and making the Bobber more attractive to a broader range of riders. We’ve found out what you need to know about the latest version of this classically styled motorcycle. There has been only one Bobber for 22 years. The black version is gone, and for a good reason. Triumph upgraded the stock Bobber to Black-spec and gave it the standard blacked-out treatment. However, there’s more to the new Bobber than just making the standard Black version.

The 2022 Triumph Bonneville Bobber gets a new 16-inch front wheel — goodbye, 19-inch. The covers are thick in front. High-profile rubber helps the suspension absorb road bumps and provides a large footprint on the asphalt. So that the Bobber does not turn reluctantly, the rake is retracted by 0.4 degrees.
A higher spec fork comes with the front wheel. The Showa fork has 47mm diameter sliders instead of 41mm. This should significantly improve front-end stability and feedback – perfect for the new fat Avon Cobra Chrome rubber.
Brembo calipers replace the Nissin units for the 310mm front discs. The 255mm rear disc continues to be slowed down by a Nissin caliper.
Riders who like to cover a few miles between fueling visits will appreciate the larger fuel tank. The new tank holds 3.2 gallons. With an improved fuel economy of 61 mpg, you can travel nearly 200 miles on a tank full of fuel.
Black powder coating is applied to the engine covers, cam, and sprockets. The matte look is serious.
Triumph has given the instruments a facelift. It has an analog-style speedometer complete with a scrollable LCD. The dial has been changed and now has translucent silver markings. The Bonneville badge sits at the top of the black bezel. There is a new headlight, and it’s all LED.
Complying with Euro 5 emissions standards, Triumph has worked to make the Bobber engine more exciting. Peak power of 76 horsepower at 6,100 rpm and peak torque of 78.2 lb.-ft at 4,000 rpm doesn’t tell the whole story. The 1200 High Torque motor has less internal inertia in 2022, so throttle response is improved. Road and Rain power modes return.
